Spiritual Support

Spiritual support and seach for the meaning

Spirituality can be described as your personal connection to the meaning and purpose of life through something greater than yourself. It can include a belief in a higher power or a commitment to a set of deeply held personal values. People often express their spirituality through a particular religion or faith, although many people consider themselves spiritual without a formal religious affiliation.

Some veterans may find that their life experiences strengthen their spirituality or faith. Others may find that their military experience prompts them to rethink or question their spirituality or religion.

You may have questions about what death and suffering mean in the larger scheme of things, whether what you saw or experienced has any meaning or purpose, whether your actions made you a bad person, and why you survived when your fellow comrades did not.

These questions often arise after a difficult or traumatic experience such as war, natural disasters or accidents. For many people, reflecting on what they believe and why they believe it is part of making sense of a difficult experience and a way to make changes in their lives.

If you have a religion, you may be concerned that you are losing faith in what you believe and what is truly meaningful and worthwhile in life. Talking to a priest or a psychotherapist working in existential therapy can help you find answers to these questions. Contact us!
