Integrated psychiatric and psychotherapy services for people living with complex trauma, PTSD, and treatment-resistant depression. Based in Kyiv, serving nationwide.
Core Services
Evidence-based psychological treatment tailored to each person, using modalities including EMDR, trauma-focused CBT, and prolonged exposure, and other psychosomatic therapies.
Every patient receives a structured psychiatric pathway — assessment, mid-treatment review, and follow-up — so treatment is safe, monitored, and adjusted as needed.
A medically supervised intervention for adults with treatment-resistant depression and severe trauma symptoms, delivered within a controlled clinical framework with preparation, integration, and follow-up built in.
Individual and group structured, clinician-led psychotherapy for veterans focused on symptom reduction, emotional regulation, peer connection, and reintegration — trauma-informed and gender-sensitive.
Clinical Approach
We treat the whole person — psychological, neurobiological, and functional dimensions of recovery — within a stepped-care model that matches treatment intensity to clinical need.
Integrated trauma-focused therapy, EMDR, trauma-focused CBT (including prolonged exposure), regulation-focused and stabilization interventions. Psychiatric assessment and medication management where clinically indicated. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy for eligible cases. Face-to-face and tele-psychiatric delivery as appropriate.
Psychiatrists, psychotherapists, and clinical psychologists working as an integrated team. All clinicians receive structured training in trauma-informed and survivor-centered care, ongoing clinical supervision, and mentorship.
War and trauma raise questions that go beyond symptoms — about meaning, purpose, identity, and faith. We recognize that recovery involves the whole person. Our team integrates existential and meaning-centered therapeutic approaches alongside clinical treatment, so nothing gets left out of the healing process.
We are not basic psychosocial support or crisis response without follow-up. We are a specialized, outpatient clinical provider that bridges the gap between community MHPSS and formal health systems — combining trauma psychotherapy, structured psychiatric oversight, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy in one coherent, ethically governed pathway.
Our Model
Our stepped-care model means we match the right level of support to each person — from psychoeducation through to intensive clinical care.
About MedPsy
Who We Are
MedPsy Foundation (NGO "Foundation for Development of Medicine and Psychosocial Support") is a Ukrainian non-profit registered in Kyiv in May 2024. We were founded by clinicians and humanitarian health professionals to address the critical shortage of specialized trauma-focused mental health care in wartime Ukraine.
Mission
To restore health, dignity, and functional recovery for conflict-affected populations by delivering integrated, trauma-informed, and evidence-based medical and psychosocial care — including advanced interventions for complex and treatment-resistant conditions — while strengthening national capacity and contributing to scientific advancement in trauma recovery.
Vision
A Ukraine where every war-affected person — including veterans and civilians with complex trauma — has timely access to safe, high-quality, scientifically grounded mental health and medical care without stigma, delay, or institutional barriers.
Every decision is grounded in evidence, not assumption.
People come to us at their most vulnerable. We treat that seriously.
Specialized care should not depend on where you live or what you can pay.
Our clinicians are trained, supervised, and held to high standards.
We are transparent about how we work and how we use resources.
We do not work in isolation. We build with the system, not around it.

For Partners & Donors
Millions of Ukrainians have been exposed to violence, displacement, and cumulative trauma. Many now live with PTSD, severe depression, complex trauma, and treatment-resistant conditions. The specialized outpatient psychiatric and trauma-focused care they need is severely limited — particularly outside major cities and in frontline and displacement-affected areas.
We deliver integrated, trauma-informed outpatient treatment combining psychotherapy, psychiatric oversight, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy for carefully screened adults. We run dedicated veteran group therapy, build referral pathways between community services and specialized care, and provide transport support to remove access barriers.
We work through structured referral pathways and coordinated care models. We are transparent about our clinical protocols, outcomes, and governance.
We combine deep clinical expertise in trauma-focused care with practical humanitarian health experience. Our leadership includes professionals with backgrounds in international health coordination and advanced psychiatric practice. We are aligned with Ukraine's mental health reform agenda and international clinical standards.
